Maya Angelou - American autobiographer and poet, professor

Maya Angelou is one of the American autobiographer and poet who has been called "America's most visible black female autobiographer" by scholar Joanne M. Braxton. She is well known for her series of six autobiographical volumes, which focus on her childhood and early on adult experiences. The first and most greatly acclaimed, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (1969), tells of her first seventeen years. It brought her international respect, and was nominated for a National Book Award. She has been awarded over 30 honorary degree and was selected for a Pulitzer Prize for her 1971 volume of poetry, Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water 'Fore I Diiie.

Angelou was a member of the Harlem Writers Guild in the late 1950s, was active in the Civil Rights movement, and served as Northern Coordinator of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Southern Christian Leadership Conference. A Tony Award nomination for her position in the 1973 play Look Away, and three Grammys for her spoken word albums. In 1995, Angelou's publishing company, Bantam Books, known her for having the longest running record on The New York Times Paperback factual Bestseller List. In 1998, she was induct into the National Women's Hall of Fame. She has provide on two presidential committees, and was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2000 and the Lincoln Medal in 2008. Musician Ben Harper has privileged Angelou with his song "I'll Rise", which include words from her poem, "And Still I Rise." She has been awarded above thirty honorary degrees.

Jason Joel Desrouleaux well known by his stage name Jason Derulo, is an American singer songwriter, actor and dancer. He has been performing as the age of five. He wrote his first song, "Crush on You", at age eight and was heard singing division of the song on a Galaxy FM interview. After producing records for many artists and writing songs for Cash Money account, co founder of the label Birdman, Young Money Entertainment owner Lil Wayne and rapper Diddy, Derulo signed to minor label Beluga Heights. After Beluga Heights became piece of the Warner Music Group, Derulo released his debut single, "Whatcha Say" in May 2009.

The song became a huge digital hit, selling over five million digital downloads, fast an RIAA certification of double platinum, and attainment number 1 in the US and New Zealand. He released his second single, In My Head, in Dec 2009. His entrance album, Jason Derulo, was released in 2010. He has also freshly been featured in a song by new artist Will Roush called "Turn it Up," which also features Stat Quo and Young Buck. He is initial charted inside the top ten of the UK and Irish album Charts in early March 2010.

Nick Carter is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, actor and entertainer. He is best known as one of the famous vocalists of the pop group, Backstreet Boys. Nick roofed a number of songs made popular by other performer in the late 1980s. He effort a career as a solo artist in 2002, when he released Now Or Never. The album reaches #17 on Billboard 200 and was specialized gold, both in the United States and Canada. He has made special television appearances and starred in his own reality show, House of Carters. He is older brother of singer Aaron Carter.

Carter has recognized ongoing struggles with drug addiction and alcoholism. He says that he got sober after being identify with cardiomyopathy and realized that he could die if he did not create major lifestyle changes. The singer credits a strong lifestyle with helping turn his life around. Nick Carter was broadcast as the new Special Ambassador for the Year of the Dolphin (YoD) on May 17, 2007. He was to record a fresh song and video with all profits going to this project, and also make a public service statement and appear at local schools.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29, 1958. He was an American recording artist, entertainer, and philanthropist. Referred to as the King of Pop, Jackson is known as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His giving to music, dance and fashion, along with a much-publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. In the early 1980s, Jackson became a leading figure in popular music. The music videos for his songs, such as "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and "Thriller", were credited with transforming the medium into an art type and a promotional tool, and the popularity of these videos helped to bring the relatively latest television channel MTV to fame.

Jackson's 1982 album Thriller is the top-selling album of all time. His other records, including Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and History (1995), also rank among the world's top-selling. Some of his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records; 13 Grammy Awards, 26 American Music Awards , 13 number-one singles in the United States in his solo career and the estimated sale of over 800 million records worldwide.Aspects of Jackson's personal life, including his changing appearance, personal relationships and behavior, generated argument.

In 1993, he was accused of child sexual abuse, but the case was settled and no proper charges were brought. In 2005, he was tried and acquitted of further sexual abuse allegations and some other charges after the jury ruled him not guilty on all counts. Jackson died on June 25, 2009, after he is suffering from cardiac arrest. Before his death, Jackson had reportedly been administered drugs are propofol and lorazepam.
